Please read through each step carefully before registering so that you understand the athletic registration/orange card process.
IF MY STUDENT WAS AN ATHLETE AT ROCKY LAST YEAR, DO I HAVE TO REGISTER AGAIN?
YES...YOU JUST HAVE TO SIGN BACK INTO YOUR SPORTS ENGINE ACCOUNT, CHOOSE YOUR FALL SPORT, AND UPDATE: ANY INFO THAT MIGHT HAVE CHANGED (I.E. NEW MEDICAL CONDITIONS, MEDICINES, ETC...) ; PARENT AND ATHLETE NEED TO UPDATE SIGNATURES. IMPORTANT NOTE...NEW...SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY HAS BEEN ADDED AND REQUIRES ATHLETE/PARENT SIGNATURES. If fall athlete's physical is current, you can skip Step #1.

Yes you read that right...no more paper forms/signatures needed, except the physical the doctor signs!!
BUT...all athletes must be registered online. For more info see Step #2!
Participating students and their parents are required to read the PSD ATHLETIC HANDBOOK .
ALL ATHLETES (NEW AND RETURNING) MUST OBTAIN AN ORANGE "PERMIT TO PRACTICE" CARD BEFORE TRYING OUT FOR A SPORT, EACH SEASON!
Process for obtaining an orange "permit," is as follows for Rocky athletes only (if athlete is ***home-based/charter school/private school - please visit https://www.rockyathletics.org/page/3210,.
WHY MUST AN ATHLETE OBTAIN AN ORANGE CARD BEFORE EACH SPORT THEY TRYOUT FOR?
Because Colorado HS Sports Association (CHSAA) requires all athlete's in Colorado to have physical info on file with their school (Rocky - Ms. Seale - Athletic Secretary), registered, eligibility checked/cleared, along with proof of payment shown before an athlete may participate in any sports season. Once this has been done, an orange card is issued.
Fall - Season A orange cards will begin to be issued approx. Aug. 13. Needed for official start date of Aug. 13.
Winter- Season B orange cards will begin to be issued approx. TBA for official start date of Jan. 4.
Spring-Season C orange cards will begin to issued approx. TBA for official start date of March 1.
Spring-Season D orange cards will begin to be issued approx. TBA for official start date of April 26.
STEP #1: Bring in a hard copy of 2020-21 HS Physician Certification of Student Fitness for Athletic Participation (Physical certification Espanol), for all sports!
IMPORTANT COVID INFO REGARDING PHYSICALS:
IMPORTANT - Doctor must sign and print his name on the bottom of page, AND, puts the "Date of Examination" (date in which the athlete had his/her physical in appropriate space (1 line above physician's name).
*** Physicals cannot be uploaded or completed online.
If - you don't have a physical, or, your physical has/or is expiring soon, schedule your physical with your doctor asap. Take the above form with you to the doctor.
If - athlete has a physical on file at Rocky, and, it is good (physicals only good for 365 days) through the sport season athlete is planning to participate in, then no new physical needed. However, athlete must be sure to be registered online, EACH SEASON for the 2020-2021 year (see step #2 below), and pay athletic fee and training fee for current sport.
(Note: it is the parent/students responsibility to know when the athletes physical expires and plan accordingly to replace expired physical the day after expiration. If physical expires during athletes sport season, athlete will not be allowed to participate further until a new physical has been brought in- due the next business day before traveling to an event, or by end of school day.)
Physical is good for one year (365 days).
STEP #2: DISTRICT IS REQUIRING ALL PSD SCHOOL FAMILIES TO REGISTER ONLINE AGAIN THIS YEAR.
THIS MEANS NO PAPERS (EXCEPT FOR THE PHYSICAL) TO BE BROUGHT IN FOR ROCKY PSD STUDENTS.
IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A SPORTS ENGINE ACCOUNT, YOU JUST HAVE TO SIGN BACK IN, CHOOSE YOUR FALL SPORT, AND UPDATE ANY: INFO THAT MIGHT HAVE CHANGED (I.E. NEW MEDICAL CONDITIONS, MEDICINES, ETC...), ATHLETE & PARENT MUST UPDATE SIGNATURES. IMPORTANT NOTE : NEW "SOCIAL MEDIA" POLICY IS NOW REQUIRED AND CAN BE FOUND WITHIN YOUR SPORTS ENGINE REGISTRATION. BOTH ATHLETE AND PARENT MUST SIGN OFF ON THIS POLICY.

You can only register/pay for a fall sport online after JULY 1.
You can only register/pay for a winter sport after TBA.
You can only register/pay for a spring sport after JAN. ____

YES...YOU JUST HAVE TO SIGN BACK INTO YOUR REGISTRATION, CHOOSE YOUR FALL SPORT, AND UPDATE ANY INFO THAT MIGHT HAVE CHANGED (I.E. NEW MEDICAL CONDITIONS, MEDICINES, ETC...) AND SIGN NEW SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY STATEMENT

STEP #3: Pay athletic fee. See fee table below. How do I pay? There are 2 ways to pay.
a) For PSD STUDENTS.. Payment for FALL sports will be accepted online once PSD authorizes/receives permission for athletics to begin! Athletes involved in Boys Golf, Cheer or Dance may begin their payment process on July 27 at https://psdschools.schoolpay.com. Note you will have to find your account, or, create an account if you have not already done so.
If you pay with a credit or debit card, there will be a .0335% transaction fee for each item.
b) Payments by check or cash can begin tba (depending on PSD/State permission to reopen) in person at RMHS.
***If you are a Home-Based, Charter, etc... payment must be done at Rocky, in person, once placed for athletics here at Rocky.
Be sure to obtain and bring in a receipt when registering for sport in person with Ms. Seale.
IF -- you are on waived fees, YOU MUST HAVE REAPPLIED FOR THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR!! To apply/re-apply go to: https://www.psdschools.org/fees. Scroll down to: Qualifying Students May Apply to Have Fees/Charges Waived., follow instructions.
Once approved (it could take up to 10 days) the only fee waived for a PSD Non-Charter Student is the (see below) “All Sports” fee of $TBA per sport.
***Home-Based, Charter, etc… students – fee is not waivable.
*If -- you have been approved to have fees waived, you MUST still process a payment through school pay (log into school pay at https://psdschools.schoolpay.com, select your student's sport, add that sport to the cart and it will show up as $0.00 due). Bring receipt in, along with your doctor's sheet to Ms. Seale (Athletic Secretary).
*If -- approved for free/reduced fees, you must also complete the “Permission to Share Info” online via ParentVue.

Students who do not pay will not be issued an orange "Permit to Practice" card.
STEP #4 - When athlete brings in completed physical and has paid, athlete's eligibility is checked by Ms Seale (Athletic Asst.) or Mr. Crist (Athletic Director). Criteria: ALL athletes at Rocky must be taking 3 classes while participating in a sport, and, must have earned 25 credits the previous semester.
***Home-Based, charter, other student athletes eligibility will need to be determined. Please bring contact info of who to communicate weekly with regards to athletes eligibility.
STEP #5 - Once cleared by the Rocky athletics department, an orange "Permit to Practice" will be issued to the athlete. Athlete must turn the orange card into the coach by first day of try-outs (this hand-off , from athlete to coach, lets the coach know the athlete is cleared/eligible to participate in his/her sport).
If the orange "permit to practice" card has not been handed off to the coach by official August 10 date, athlete may not participate further, until, permit is given to the coach.
PLEASE DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE FIRST DAY OF TRYOUTS (AUG 10) to get an orange card!!!
A Permit to Practice Card must be obtained each season before tryouts.
WINTER SPORTS ORANGE CARDS ISSUED - after 1st quarter grades are recorded (approx. Oct. 27) - Official winter sports start date - Nov. 16. Even if athlete received an orange card for a fall sport, they must pay fee in person or online in October, and visit Ms. Seale (Athletic Secretary) to get a new orange card for any winter sport.
SPRING SPORTS ORANGE CARDS ISSUED - after 1st semester grades are recorded in January. Official spring sports start date - March 1. Even if athlete received an orange card for a fall and/or winter sport, they must pay fee in person or online, and visit Ms. Seale (Athletic Secretary) to get a new orange card for any spring sport.
Payments for HS spring sports will begin to be accepted on Schoolpay and at RMHS beginning tba.
